The safety valve has a dome plate (1) with a filling hole aperture (3), which is lockable by a closure element (4). A locking device (30) is attached to the dome plate. A mechanical adjusting lever and pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical actuatable switching device are set with cup springs (8,9) which push piston (11) downwardly toward the interior of tank container to press filling hole lid (5) on dome plate and liquid-seal the filling hole aperture, upon exertion of pressure on closure element. An independent claim is included for method for controlling pressure in tank container.
