<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration apparatus in which a distortion error that may occur in a peripheral portion inside a captured image can be corrected, and a calibration method. <P>SOLUTION: In a calibration apparatus 100, a feature point setting section 110 sets a first intra-image feature point group set and a second intra-image feature point group set from among intra-image feature point groups within a board image obtained by capturing through a stereo camera a calibration board including feature point groups arrayed entirely with periodicity on the basis of a first pattern in which setting points are disposed closely only in a central portion region of the board image and a second pattern in which the setting points are coarsely disposed over all the board image. An error correction information generation section 130 calculates a distortion error on the basis of coordinates of intra-image feature points included in the first intra-image feature point group set, coordinates of intra-image feature points included in the second intra-image feature point group sets, and calibration parameters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
