<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that allows easy arrangement of a solid light source, and to provide a projector. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device is provided with a solid light source 411 for emitting light, a base member 412 including an arrangement face (a front face part 412A) on which the solid light source 411 is arranged, and a pressure member 414 including a pressing part (a projection 4142) which is provided on the base member 412 and presses the solid light source 411 on to the arrangement face (the front face part 412A), and fixes the solid light source 411.
