<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of enhancing safety when protecting an occupant from a shock caused by a collision with a vehicle while maintaining the safety in driving operation by sufficiently protecting not only a head of the occupant but also other parts without reducing a sense of security imparted to the occupant. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device 100 includes an airbag module 150 arranged in a steering wheel 140 for steering the vehicle and protecting the occupant by inflating and deploying an airbag bag body 151 toward the occupant side when colliding with the vehicle, and includes a detecting means for previously detecting the collision with the vehicle when setting a position of the steering wheel 140 when the advancing direction of the vehicle is straightly advancing as a neutral position of the steering wheel 140, and an adjusting means 130 for adjusting the position of the steering wheel 140 so that the position becomes the neutral position when detecting the collision with the vehicle by the detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
