<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tundish that can supply clean molten steel of suitable temperature by uniformly cooling a lid for blocking an opening of a tundish body to prevent the inadvertent thermal deformation of the lid. <P>SOLUTION: The tundish 1 includes the tundish body 20 storing molten steel M thereinside, and the lid 2a blocking the opening of the body 20 in an openable/closable manner. The lid 2a includes: a steel shell 3 comprising a top plate 3a made of a steel plate, and a side plate 3b hanging from the periphery of the top plate 3a; a refractory 4 arranged inside the steel shell 3; and a gas pipe 10 penetrating the steel shell 3 from the outside and piped along a horizontal direction inside the refractory 4 to discharge inert gas to the inside of the tundish body 20. The gas pipe 10 includes a plurality of air supply pipes 12 penetrating the steel shell 3 and communicating with the outside, and a plurality of discharge pipes 13 discharging inert gas to the inside of the tundish body 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
