<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyfunctional fluorine-containing alcohol suitable for a polyurethane composition capable of giving a cured product excellent in compatibility, free of tackiness or bleeding, and excellent in scratch resistance; and a polyurethane composition. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing alcohol represented by general formula (II) or (III) and a water-repellent polyurethane composition are provided. In the formula: Rf<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and Rf<SB POS="POST">2</SB>are chain or cyclic fluorohydrocarbon groups which contain at least a carbon atom and a fluorine atom, and may contain an oxygen atom and/or a hydrogen atom; Rf<SB POS="POST">1</SB>is a q valent group while Rf<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is a monovalent group; and q is an integer of ≥2. A hydrogen atom in a hydroxyl group of a methylol group may be substituted by a polymerizable group Q, a fluorine content of a compound to which Q is introduced is ≥35 mass% of the molecular weight of the compound, and when the compound is polymerized, calculated values of inter-crosslinking molecular weights of a polymer obtained by the polymerization are each ≤300.
