<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lubricity, durability, and strength, and to reduce costs by achieving compatibility to a lubricant and adaptation to high temperature use environment, even during use under lean lubrication in a swash plate type variable displacement compressor. <P>SOLUTION: In a rotation stopping mechanism 36 of a wobble plate 18 of a swash plate type variable displacement compressor 1, the rotation stopping mechanism of the wobble plate comprises a constant velocity universal joint 21. The constant velocity universal joint includes: an outer joint member 22 in which a plurality of track grooves are formed in an inner circumferential surface; an inner joint member 23 in which a plurality of track grooves mated with the track grooves of the outer joint member are formed on an outer circumferential surface; a plurality of balls 24 interposed between the track grooves of the outer joint member and the track grooves of the inner joint member to transmit torque; and retainers 25 retaining the balls and provided at the inner circumferential surface of the outer joint member 22 and the outer circumferential surface of the inner joint member.
