The roller (2a) has a central bearing shaft (3) provided with a cylindrical, spherical, conical or biconical bearing roller body (4). A support ring assembly (5) is provided on the roller body, and comprises a set of support rings (6). The support rings define a ring groove profile on an outer surface of the roller. The ring groove profile is unsymmetrical in relation to a symmetrical plane extending transversely to the bearing shaft. The support rings are integrally formed on the roller body, which surrounds a support ring jacket.
