<p>A fork crown, particularly for scooters, comprises a bore 9 sized to fit over a handlebar stem 2a and having a slop 8 and tightening members such as bolts 11 adapted to clamp the fork crown to the handlebar stem 2a. A compression bolt 12 and washer 13 serve to pre-load headset bearings (5a, figure 2) prior to tightening bolts 11. A compression top clamp (3a, figure 2) may provide an upper stop for bearing pre-loading, or a flange may be formed integrally to the stem 2a.</p> |
