<p>An injection mould for making closed or open hollow rubber or rubber-like plastic objects, e.g. bags, bellows, sleeves or coverings for moulded objects has a core projecting into the mould and fixed to one of the mould components and supported from other components. The supporting mechanism comprises one or more movable abutments, which can be withdrawn from the mould, and which fit tightly against the core. Prefd. the abutment is a sliding fit in a hole in the mould at the opposite end from the fixing point of the core, and engages a corresp. recess in the end of the core. The injection duct enters the mould in this region, so that the abutment can be used to stabilise the core throughout the injection operation, except for the final portion for closing the moulding completely; to complete this final portion, the abutment is fully withdrawn.</p> |
