A field assembled optical connector has a plug 1000 with an open-topped boot 130, a boot cover 2000 pivotally coupled to the plug 1000 to open and close the boot to fix, in use, an optical cable 2000 to the boot, and a screw cap 400 screw-coupled to the boot and boot cover to fix the cable when inserted into the boot and cover. A protection cap 900 is coupled to a tip end of the optical connection member to protect the ferrule. An annular boss 150 is formed at one side of a lower circumference of an outer peripheral surface of a housing coupling part 110. An annular separation preventing step 160 for preventing separation of the housing is formed at one side of the annular boss. An extension 420 is formed on a front side thereof to push the housing forward so that an annular ring portion of the housing passes by the annular boss of the housing coupling part to be coupled between the separation preventing step and the annular boss when coupled to the plug. |
