PURPOSE: An RFID(Radio Frequency ID) tag collecting system using numbering and a method thereof are provided to reduce waste of time caused by an empty slot and a collision slot frequently generated in a repeated tag collecting process by allocating a slot number for a response to a newly recognized tag and performing the response on a corresponding slot number in the tag collecting process. CONSTITUTION: A reader transmits a collection command to a tag with completed tag numbering. The tag transmits a data response of the tag in a slot corresponding to an allocated response slot number at a tag numbering stage. A frame size used in an LP of a tag collecting stage is same as the biggest numerical value among pre-allocated slot numbers. An unnecessary increase of a tag collecting time caused by an empty slot is prevented depending on the frame size.
