A slew drive device comprises: a motor (21) for slewing that is driven by electrical power from an electrical power storage device (120) and that drives a slewing body (3); an inverter (20) that controls the driving of the motor for slewing; a controller (30) that is connected to the inverter via a control signal line; and an emergency operation unit that gives commands to the inverter (20) if an abnormality occurs in the control of the motor (21) for slewing. On the basis of a signal from the emergency operation unit, the inverter (20) blocks the control signal line and controls the driving of the motor (21) for slewing. |
