In the CRT cleaning method the CRT (2) is opened on the side opposite the screen (9). A tube (5) with a nozzle (7) is then inserted through the opening (4) in the CRT into the inner space of the CRT. Gas is then fed under pressure into the CRT through the tube and the nozzle so that luminescent material on the inner surface of the screen is removed. The gas containing the luminescent material is then removed from the CRT by a suction apparatus (10). After the cleaning process is complete the tube is removed from the CRT.
