<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial foil bearing structured to be capable of obtaining good performance as designed with regard to the load performance and dynamic characteristics of the bearing by sufficiently reducing strain produced in a top foil. <P>SOLUTION: The radial foil bearing 3, which supports a rotary shaft 1, includes: a top foil 10; a back foil 11; and a bearing housing 12 which houses these foils. On both side surfaces of the bearing housing 12, engagement grooves 15, which are extended from the outer circumferential edge to the inner circumferential edge thereof, are formed. On both side circumferential parts of the back foil 11, cutouts 16 are formed. In the engagement grooves 15 of the bearing housing 12 and the cutouts 16 of the back foil 11, fastening members 30 are fastened which includes a pair of engagement legs 31, which are engaged with the engagement grooves 15 and the cutouts 16, and connecting parts 32, which are disposed at one end side of the engagement legs 31 to connect the engagement legs 31, 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
