PURPOSE: A filtering apparatus having a back washing function is provided to have effective functions for maintaining of a filter and supplying of processing water and washing water by converting a filtering or back washing location of the filter using magnetic force of a permanent magnet and an electromagnet. CONSTITUTION: A filtering apparatus having a back washing function comprises a filtration part(2) and a valve assembly(20). The valve assembly is connected to a pipe of the filtration part which filters water for filtering. The filtration part forms a filtering water supplying pipe(3b) on the upper part of a filtration tank(3) with a filtered water discharge pipe(3a). On the lower inside the filtration tank, a filter box(5) is installed on the top and a fixed plate(4) with a center hollow(4a) is installed. The filter box comprises an inner container(5a) and an outer container(5b). The filter box connects a filtering filter(9) composed of fibers to a variable holder(8) fluctuating on the top of a hanging projection(60) formed inside, and a fixed holder(7) installed on the lower part. A permanent magnet(10) is installed in the variable holder, and an electromagnet(11) corresponding to the permanent magnet on the upper exterior of filer box is installed.
