PURPOSE: A tape feeder rapidly ejecting carrier tape by sensing the position of an empty part is provided to eject the section without determining the high speed and position of the first part of the newly supplied carrier tape, thereby transferring the first part to pickup a unit at high speeds. CONSTITUTION: A carrier tape is loaded into the tape loading unit(20). A driving unit comprises a first drive sprocket(21) and a second driver sprocket(31). The first and second drive sprockets are sequentially installed along the transfer path of the carrier tape. A part pickup unit(30) picks up the part in the carrier tape. A sensing unit senses the part or the transfer hole of the carrier tape. The controlling unit controls the rotation of the first drive sprocket and/or the second driver sprocket.
