PURPOSE: A high functional vacuum insulator and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to minimize heat transmission transmitted through a glass fiber by forming pores in the center of the glass fiber, thereby improving heat transmission function. CONSTITUTION: A high functional vacuum insulator(1) comprises a core material(10) and an external cladding material(12). The core material has gas barrier properties coating the core material. The vacuum insulator decompresses the inside of the external cladding material, thereby being sealed. The core material is composed of fiber assemblies, and the fiber includes an empty hollow portion. The hollow portion is formed in a longitudinal direction of the fiber.
