PURPOSE: A shear drawing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to prevent the speed crack on the surface of a material by applying a compressive force to the surface of the material, and to reduce the abrasion of a die caused by the material, thereby extending the replacement cycle of the die. CONSTITUTION: A shear drawing apparatus(100) comprises a feeding unit and a die(130). The feeding unit is provided to apply a compressive force to a material for shear deformation. The die is provided for the material passing through the feeding unit to be shear-deformable. The material passing through the die is provided with the back pressure to reduce the tension onto the die due to the material. The die comprises an entry side channel(131) with the inflow of the material from the feeding unit, an outgoing side channel(133) as a back pressure device for an outgoing material , and an intersection(132) on with the entry channel and the exit channel which are crossed. The outgoing channel includes a section with a reduced cross sectional area. The feeding unit includes rolling rolls(101a,101b). The shear drawing apparatus additionally includes a guide having a guide groove(162) with a shape corresponding to one side of the material passing through the die and a compression roll groove(152) with a shape corresponding to the other side of the material passing through the die.
