#CMT# #/CMT# The pipe (10) has a heating element (20) i.e. heating coil, exhibiting temperature-dependant electric resistance, and a power supply (30) to allow load current to flow through the heating element. A constant power source (41) allows signal current to flow through the heating element or applies a measuring voltage at the heating element. A sensor device determines the electric resistance of the heating element and transmits a measurement signal (43) of a device controller (40). The controller controls the power supply to control the load current based on the measurement signal. #CMT# : #/CMT# The heating element is made of negative temperature coefficient (NTC) material or positive temperature coefficient (PTC) material. The sensor device is a NTC thermistor or PTC thermistor. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a heating element for heating a fluid-conveying pipe. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Fluid-conveying pipe for supplying fluid e.g. fluid such as diesel, and gas, to a combustion engine. Can also be used for a pipe for supplying washing fluid for a household appliance e.g. dish rinsing machine and washing machine. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The controller determines the current temperature of the heating element based on the electric resistance of the heating element in short time, so that the heating element can be automatically deactivated while using fluid with hazardous or undesired boundary conditions, and a constant behavior of the fluid is obtained, thus controlling the temperature of the fluid in an accurate and precise manner.
