<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress interference to a reception side when a wireless signal has a reception frequency band wider than a transmission frequency band. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission device according to an embodiment performs carrier sensing in a bandwidth broader than a signal bandwidth in which a frame is transmitted, and determines whether detection of an idle time longer than a period of time required for transmitting a frame succeeds.
