In accordance with the present invention, methods consistent with the present invention increase patient compliance with screening while reducing economic risk to health service providers. In one embodiment of the invention, a patient acknowledges informed consent for a particular medical service, agrees to arbitrate any disputes arising from the service, accepts an insurance policy, and undergoes the service. The premium for the insurance policy is a function of certain risk factors, including factors associated with the patient, the particular service, and the health service provider. In the event of an unfavorable outcome, the policy proceeds are paid to the patient.
