The present invention provides a power determination method and a base station. The method comprises: optimizing, with an optimization condition that the throughput of each user is not smaller than a throughput threshold and an optimization goal of minimizing the total power consumption of a base station, the number of sub-carriers occupied by each user, the number of radio frequency links initiated by the base station and the transmit power of the base station, to obtain the optimal number of sub-carriers occupied by each user, the optimal number of radio frequency links initiated by the base station and the optimal transmit power of the base station; and according to the optimal number of sub-carriers occupied by each user, the optimal number of radio frequency links initiated by the base station and the optimal transmit power of the base station obtained through optimization, determining the total power consumption of the base station. The technical solution of the present invention can minimize the total power consumption of a base station in a downlink MIMO-OFDM system, thereby reducing the power consumption of the downlink MIMO-OFDM system. |
