<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device capable of preventing occurrence of color mixture by preventing crosstalk between adjoining pixels, being advantageous to improvement in color reproducibility on a reproduction screen. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor substrate 404 comprises an imaging region which includes a photoelectric conversion section and a signal scan circuit section, with a unit pixel matrix being arranged. The imaging region includes an element separation insulating film 408 which is so provided as to enclose respective unit pixels in association with a border portion to an adjoining unit pixel. The element separation insulating film is provided to be off-set in the semiconductor substrate from the surface of the semiconductor substrate where the signal scan circuit section is formed, reaching the rear surface of the semiconductor substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
