PURPOSE: A silicon carbide sintered body and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to make the density of silicon carbide sintered body by adding organic carbon compound to the silicon carbide using a reaction-bonded sintering. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a silicon carbide sintered body comprises the following steps: preparing raw materials by mixing silicon carbide, solid carbon and organic carbon compound; molding the raw materials; and adding silicon to the raw materials and heat-treating the mixed materials. The organic carbon compound includes a phenol resin. 1-10 parts by weight of phenol resins are included based on 100.0 parts by weight of the silicon carbide. The solid carbon comprises one of graphite and carbon black. 1-10 parts by weight of the solid carbon based on 100.0 parts by weight of the silicon carbide. 0.05-5 ppm of iron is included in the silicon carbide. |
