<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool which suppresses the clogging of chips between a peripheral face of a holder on which a cutting blade protrudes and a work wall face, and has excellent chip discharge properties. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting tool includes: a cutting insert 2 having a cutting blade 21; and a holder 3 in which the cutting insert 2 is attached to an attachment part so that the cutting blade 21 protrudes from the peripheral face of the holder 3 to the outside. The holder 3 is positioned on a peripheral face on the opposite side to a protrusion direction of the cutting blade 21 in a tip edge face view, and has a wall face positioned at the back end side of the attachment part. The wall face has: a first area inclined to come closer to a holder reference face 5 toward a back end on the leading edge side in a side view; and a second area which is positioned along a holder axis L on the back end side of the first area in plane view, and also is inclined as moving away from the holder reference face 5 toward a peripheral face on the opposite side in a cross section perpendicular to the holder axis L.
