The plant has a wind-driven running wheel (5) rotatably supported around a vertical axis (27) depending on wind direction. A pump is driven by rotation force around the vertical axis of the running wheel in order to pump fluid against gravity into a storage unit. A sail rod is provided with a running wheel, which aligns the running wheel along the wind direction. A wind catching chamber is formed between the sail rod and the running wheel. A cam is connected with a piston rod of the pump.
