<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility of small characters such as a telop displayed within a television program on an image display apparatus comprising a small display. <P>SOLUTION: The image display apparatus comprises: a character region extraction unit which detects and cuts out a region including characters from a predetermined frame image within a moving image; an emphasis processing unit for performing emphasis processing on the cut-out character region; a memory for retaining the emphasized character region having undergone the emphasis processing; and a composition processing unit for composing the emphasized character region retained in the memory into the predetermined frame image and following frame images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
