<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a setup processing time of a data recording and reproduction device and a data library device. <P>SOLUTION: The data recording and reproduction device includes a plurality of setup means for recording and reproducing data on a recording and reproduction condition suitable to a recording medium, and a storing means for storing identification information and medium information of the recording medium, performs setup processing by a first setup means to reproduce the identification information from the recording medium when the recording medium is loaded, reads medium information corresponding to the identification information from the storing means to perform setup processing by a second setup means when the medium information corresponding to the identification information exists in the storing means, and performs setup processing by a third setup means, reproduces the medium information from the recording medium and stores the medium information together with the identification information in the storing means when the medium information corresponding to the identification information does not exist in the storing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
