<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass melting furnace operating method and a glass melting furnace capable of surely stopping downward flow of molten glass without changing the structure of a flow-down nozzle, capable of shortening also time required for one batch processing and capable of improving working efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In the operating method, a furnace bottom heating step of raising a glass temperature on the bottom of a melting furnace body, a glass flow-down step of further raising the glass temperature raised in the furnace bottom heating step up to a set temperature and extracting molten glass into which a solution to be treated is mixed from a center part of a bottom electrode and a furnace bottom cooling step of reducing the glass temperature raised up to the set temperature in the glass flow-down step are repeated as one-batch processing. From the middle of the furnace bottom heating step, cooling air is supplied and allowed to flow into a cooling air flow passage of a cooling jacket, and on the middle of the furnace bottom cooling step through the glass flow-down step, supply of the cooling air is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
