PURPOSE:To improve denitration activity and SO2 oxidation supression effect in a relatively high temp. range by adding germanium of 0.01-5.6atm ratios with respect to the vanadium in a titled catalyst to a vanadium-titania catalyst. CONSTITUTION:After titanium oxide is molded to a honeycomb or columnar shape by a known method, <=1.3pts.wt. vanadium oxide is added to >=93pts.wt. the above-described molded titanium oxide, and this is fired in an oxygen atmosphere above 550 deg.C. Thence, 0.5-3pts.wt. germanium chloride or germanium oxide is added to the above-described fired product and this is fired in an oxygen atmosphere above 550 deg.C, whereby a vanadium-germanium-titania catalyst is produced. Although the atom ratios of germanium and vanadium are selectable arbitrarily in a 0.01-5.6 range, a 0.01-3 range is suitable. |
