The device has a suction section (15) formed by a line section (29) and connected with a low pressure generator e.g. vacuum pump. An edge of an intake opening (18) is sectionally designed as cutting edges (17). The cutting edges are connected with a motor drive (30) e.g. linear drive, which moves the cutting edges with a frequency of 1 hertz. The drive is connected with the line section and acts on the line section. The generator includes a convex surface (4) at a distance to the intake opening. The surface is spaced at a distance from a pipe section (16) around an annular outlet opening (7). An independent claim is also included for a method for making food product.
