A multi-layer adhesive label which is shrinkable onto a circumferential surface of a body, in particular of a dry battery, has a backing layer for an externally visible imprint which is covered by a transparent protective layer, the outermost layer of which adhesive label is formed by an at least axially stretched, transparent laminated-on film of shrinkable plastic. The adhesive label is characterised in that the backing layer is provided in the vicinity of its edge extending along a lateral line of the circumferential surface of the body with at least one die cut.
