<p>The invention provides apparatus for use in crawler track recycling and in particular extracting embedded metal drive elements 10 from rubber vehicle tracks 7. The apparatus comprises a substantially horizontal track support 4 having an opening 26 therein; a hook 9 mounted centrally on the longitudinal axis. It is also provided with drive means 1 to move the hook 9 normally to the track support 4 through the opening 26. A conveyor 11 advances the track 7 relative to the track supÂport 4 to bring an embedded metal drive element 10 therein into engagement with the hook 9. Clamps 5, 6 which are provided with drive means 2, 3, are movable into clamping engagement with the track 7 around the opening 26, with the clamps 5, 6 holding the track 7 in position while the drive means 1 urge the hook 9 upwards extracting an embedded metal drive element 10 from the track 7.</p> |
