PURPOSE: An osteogenesis promoting agent containing a GLP-1(glucagon-like peptide-1) agonist is provided to develop a novel drug to simultaneously prevent and treat osteoporosis and diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition which promotes osteogenesis contains a GLP-1 agonist as an active ingredient that suppresses secretion of sclerostin from osteocytes. The pharmaceutical composition which prevents and treats osteoporosis contains the GLP-1 agonist as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition further contains a bone resorption inhibitor. The bone resorption inhibitor is a bisphosphonate-based drug, an SERM(Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator)-based drug, calcitonin, estrogen, a high volume bisphosphonate-based drug, a bisphosphonate and vitamin D complex, denosumab, or a new SER-based drug.
