Utility meters (105) configured to execute multiple collection agents (138a-n) are provided. In this regard, communication may be facilitated with a plurality of utility providers. A utility meter (105) that includes one or more computer processors (120) may be configured to execute a first software agent (138a) configured to collect utility usage data on behalf of a first utility provider. Additionally, the utility meter (105) may be configured to execute a second software agent (138b) concurrently with the first software agent (138a). The second software agent (138b) may be configured to collect utility usage data on behalf of a second utility provider. The meter may be an electricity meter communicating with more than one energy provider over an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) network. |
