The plectrum or pick assembly comprises a relatively thick plastic blade 4, preferably made from hard nylon material, connected to a semi-rigid support member 1. A band 6, preferably made from butyl rubber, threads through a hole 2 in the support member 1 and is used to loop around a player s index finger. A portion of material 3 such as butyl rubber is attached to the support member 1, preferably via double sided pressure adhesive, to provide a friction grip for the blade 4. The blade 4 is further held in place on the support member 1 by a retaining band 5 made from soft flexible material such as butyl rubber. The assembly may allow a user to hold the blade 4 between the thumb and first finger, providing a soft flexible hinge for soft strumming and preventing the blade being dropped. The plectrum assembly may be used for soft or loud strumming, depending on the pressure exerted by the user. |
