<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle curtain airbag structure in which a development performance of the curtain airbag is improved. <P>SOLUTION: An occupant crash protection device comprises an airbag arranged between a ceiling part and a ceiling member of a vehicle that can be developed into a compartment room and a trim covering a pillar of the vehicle from inside the compartment room. Cutouts 53, 54 are provided at the terminal end of a weakened part 52 for improving a development performance of a curtain airbag arranged at an upper part 51 of a center pillar trim 50 so that the upper part 51 of the center pillar trim can be easily folded and curved under a pressed pressure of the airbag developed into the inside of the compartment room. The weakened part 52 is a groove having an arcular shape. In addition, there are provided an upward weakened part extending from the weakened part 52 to the upper terminal end of the center pillar trim 50 in an upward direction of the vehicle, and a cutout arranged to be contacted with the upward-directed weakened part for easily changing the upper part of the center pillar trim 50 from the weakened part 52 when the airbag is developed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
