<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title hydrophilic porous serum separation membrane having excellent physical properties such as dimensional stability and strength and with less deterioration in the membrane performance by graft-polymerizing a hydrophobic monomer on the outer surface of a hydrophobic porous membrane to make the membrane hydrophilic. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the hydrophobic membrane is treated with plasma and activated, and the hydrophilic monomer is graft-polymerized on the surface to make the membrane hydrophilic. Nitrogen, hydrogen, argon, etc., are introduced at 10<-3>-10Torr, 0.1-300W power is impressed by a high-frequency oscillator to generate plasma, and the hydrophobic membrane is irradiated with the plasma for 1-60sec. Then the gaseous hydrophilic monomer is supplied under the absence of plasma, and the graft polymerization is carried out. The graft polymerization is carried out at 0-80 deg.C and 10<-2>-10<4>Torr, and finished in 10sec-60min. The rate of the graft polymerization is preferably controlled to 2-30%. The bubble point of the obtained membrane is adjusted to 0.5-8kg/cm<2>, and the degree of swelling is controlled to <=1%.</p> |
