PURPOSE: A method for reducing the scales of high-carbon steel is provided to reduce the fusion of oxides by a proper temperature control for each section of a heating furnace, thereby reducing the generation of the scales. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing the scales of high-carbon steel is as follows. The high-carbon steel is heated in a heating furnace. The heated high-carbon steel is descaled. The heating furnace is composed of a first, second and third section aligned in order. The temperature of the first section is 1210-1250°C, the temperature of the second section is 1170-1210°C, and the temperature of the third section is 1160-1169°C.
