A method for dividing bent round-timber 1 to form boards, planks or beams which are curved in accordance with the principle curvature of the latter is specified. The known methods require, for their performance, a very high structural expenditure with, in some cases, excessive space requirements, and they do not produce the necessary dimensional accuracy in the cut products. In contrast, the method according to the invention enables, by means of special steps, a wood division of this type or such wood cutting, while using a normal sawing installation for straight cutting of round timber 1 which, in a conventional arrangement for this purpose, has a chipper 3 for lateral flattening of the timber 1, saws 4 for dividing the timber 1, there between a set of rollers 5 for lateral guidance of the timber 1, and aligning-arm pairs 6 for centring the timber 1 ahead of the chipper 3. <IMAGE>
