PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a camera and an accessory.

SOLUTION: An accessory 400 attachable to/detachable from a camera 10 with a shoe seat, comprises a connector that is electrically connected to the camera 10 in accordance with its attachment to the shoe seat, a storage part for storing electric charge, a charging part 432 that receives power supply from the camera 10 through the shoe seat and the connector and performs charging processing for the storage part on the basis of the power supply, and an accessory control part 440 that controls the charging processing by the charging part 432 depending on the operation content of the camera 10.
