<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out AD conversion with an output bit count corresponding to a frame rate. <P>SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus comprises: a pixel array section formed by pixels for detecting a physical quantity being arranged two-dimensionally in a matrix state; an AD conversion section that carries out AD (Analog to Digital) conversion on an analog pixel signal read out from the pixel array section; and a control section that controls the AD conversion section on the basis of register values stored in a register. The control section sets output bit information for setting an output bit count of AD conversion among the register values in accordance with a clock frequency for processing the pixel signal.
