<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus that displays a three dimensional image, including an ultraviolet ray light emitting diode. <P>SOLUTION: A display apparatus 500 includes a backlight unit 200 and a display panel 400. The backlight unit generates first light including first blue light, first green light and first red light. The display panel receives the first light to display an image. The backlight unit includes: a light emitting diode which generates ultraviolet ray light; a fluorescent substance layer; and a first band-pass filter. The fluorescent substance layer is disposed on the light emitting diode, where the fluorescent substance layer includes: a blue fluorescent substance which receives the ultraviolet ray and emits blue light; a green fluorescent substance which receives the ultraviolet ray and emits green light; and a red fluorescent substance which receives the ultraviolet ray and emits red light.
