<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having a core-shell structure, which achieves both of fixability and heat resistance by controlling the shell layer to develop sufficient functions as a shell layer as well as not to inhibit a fixing function of the core, which is excellent in uniformity of charging and environmental stability, which has thermal characteristics of a core portion durable under severe conditions in a developing device, particularly in a single component developing process, and which is excellent in fixability. <P>SOLUTION: Toner has a sea-island structure comprising a main part containing at least resin, a release agent and a coloring agent, and projections as islands formed of resin fine particles on the surface of the main part. The resin in the main part contains at least a first resin and a second resin; and the resin fine particles comprise a third resin. The first resin is a crystalline resin, while each of the second resin and the third resin is an amorphous resin. The glass transition point (Tg2) of the second resin and the melting point (Tc1) of the crystalline resin satisfy Tg2>Tc1; and the glass transition point (Tg3) of the third resin and the glass transition point (Tgt) of the toner satisfy Tg3>Tgt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
