What is described is a piston/cylinder unit, on the piston rod of which especially handling devices etc. can be mounted and which has at least one central supply line for devices mounted on the piston rod. The unit according to the invention is characterised by the combination of the following features: - to fix the piston against rotations, at least one rod designed as a hollow shaft passes eccentrically through the cylinder in the longitudinal direction, - the piston rod is made hollow and receives the supply lines for devices mounted on the piston rod, - for the extension of the piston, a bore, through which the piston can be loaded with a fluid, is provided in the cylinder bottom, - for the retraction of the piston, a bore, through which the piston can be loaded with a fluid from the rear side, is provided in the eccentrically arranged rod in the region of the cylinder cover.
