<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for determining an optimum division position in a product configured by joining a plurality of components formed by press-molding a thin plate. <P>SOLUTION: An optimum division position determination method 1 of the present invention is a method of determining an optimum division position in a product configured by joining a plurality of components formed by press-molding a thin plate. A plurality of division position candidates are set within a dividable area of product CAD information, expansion shapes of the respective components in the case of dividing the product by one of the division position candidates are calculated, margin expansion shapes providing a required margin in the expansion shapes are calculated, the minimum plate dimension including the respective margin expansion shapes is calculated, the total material cost of all the components is calculated from the plate dimension or the like, the total material costs are calculated similarly for the other division position candidates, and the division position candidate for minimizing the material cost is determined as the optimum division position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
