The child car seat (1) is installed in a vehicle in a position opposite to the direction of travel or in a position in the direction of travel, where a chair consisting of a seat part (2) is provided with a head piece (4), which is equipped with a backrest (3). The head piece is fixed according to the height of the child, where a control unit (C) is provided for controlling the installation of the car seat. The control unit permits the position of the car seat in or against the direction of travel depending on the actual distance between the seat part and the head piece.
