<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and apparatus that detect and conceal reference and non-reference video frames. <P>SOLUTION: An entropy decoder extends a video bit stream intended to have a fixed frame rate, analyzes the extended video bit stream, and finds a picture order count of frames of the extended video bit stream. An error detector determines that particular frames of the extended video bit stream are lost on the basis of the picture order count. An error concealer conceals the particular frame. The method is achieved by extending and analyzing the video bit stream, finding a picture order count of frames of the extended video bit stream, determining that particular frames of the extended video bit stream are lost on the basis of comparison of picture order counts of frames to which the particular frames are related, and concealing the particular picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
