摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a considerably lightweight and highly reliable rack of a rack-and-pinion type steering device which has the strength of a rack tooth part and an end screw part in the axial direction and the bending resistance equivalent to or higher than those of a rack formed by using only a conventional ferrous material. <P>SOLUTION: A lightweight and bend-resistant rack 1 is obtained by forming a carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminated body 20 consisting of at least any one of uni-directional prepreg or textile prepreg of carbon fiber on an inner circumferential surface of a steel-made outer shell which is hardened after forming a rack tooth part 11 on an outer circumference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
